The Paper Valley Rollergirls (PVRG)is a roller derby league based in Appleton, Wisconsin. Founded in 2008, the league consists of two teams which compete against teams from other leagues. The league gained a higher profile following the release of ''Whip It!''〔Jim Collar, "Fox Valley roller derby clubs embrace new exposure as 'Whip It' opens", ''The Post-Crescent'', October 2, 2009〕 In addition to Appleton, the league have played home bouts out of Green Bay, Wisconsin.〔Mclean Bennett, "Brown County arena to host women's roller derby", ''Green Bay Press-Gazette'', June 17, 2010〕 Paper Valley was accepted into the Women's Flat Track Derby Association Apprentice Program in November 2009,〔"(Apprentice Leagues )", WFTDA (of 16 November 2009 )〕 and became a full member of the WFTDA in June 2010.〔"(WFTDA welcomes 11 new members, adds new regions )", WFTDA, 17 June 2010〕 In 2012, PVRG won the Women's Rolling Along the River Tournament. The following season, Paper Valley earned a spot in the newly created Division 2 playoffs, as a 7th seed in the Kalamazoo tournament. PVRG went (2-2), claiming 6th place, and an international rank of 54th.
